| Trailside Cafe & Bike Shop was the first, & hence, the oldest business established on and for the Katy Trail, opening on April 28, 1990 when the first section of the trail was dedicated. Starting with bike rentals out of a trailer, within a month, ice cream & sodas were being served out of a one car garage that is now the cafe kitchen. 13 bikes were available for rent from a shed out back of the cafe kitchen. The cafe quickly grew to provide inside seating for 68, and patio seating for 30 or more. A full service bike shop sells new & used bikes, bike accessories, and bike repair service. A large, diverse bike rental fleet is available. | ||
