The Trailside Cafe & Bike Shop, LLC, opened in 2004 under the new ownership of Larry Horning. He is an architect who relocated to the Rocheport area from his private practice in Kansas City.

The Trailside Cafe & Bike shop is open for the 2007 season through October 31st.

Fine dining can be expressed in numerous ways. In Rocheport, the Trailside Cafe is situated alongside the old M-K-T Railroad grade, now the Katy Trail State Park. This follows the Lewis and Clark Trail, which, of course, is the Missouri River.

Trailside Cafe food, when you have a choice of outdoor dining or air conditioned comfort, and when you have a choice of buffalo burgers or a wide variety of domestic meat sandwiches, such as , turkey, beef, grilled chicken, or grill tenderloins in pleasant surrounding, can surpass the ambience and cuisine of a high-falootin restaurant.

The great grandfather of Proprietor "Larry Horning" spent a night at Rocheport in 1839, on his way upriver on a steamboat. The family later returned to settle down here.
